Brooklyn Bridge Alliance for Youth | Quarterly Newsletter We’re excited to share the latest updates, stories, and opportunities happening at BBAY. Each quarter, we highlight the incredible work happening in our community and keep you in the loop on how we’re building a more connected and supportive Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park for young people. Now Recruiting Youth Directors to join the BBAY Board! This January, BBAY will welcome four new Youth Directors to the Board. Youth Directors participate fully in board conversations, vote on key actions, and bring valuable perspectives. If you are connected to Brooklyn Center and/or Brooklyn Park, we'd love for you to consider joining our board and guiding our work. This is a stipended position. Today, one million Americans will come together at more than 8,000 events to celebrate 26 years of Lights On Afterschool – the only nationwide celebration of afterschool programs. Celebrations are happening all over the country, and come in all shapes and sizes. Show your support and find an event near you! Dear Brooklyn Center Neighbors, Partners, and Friends, The City of Brooklyn Center is excited to officially launch the 2025 Brooklyn Center NVA (Needs, Vulnerabilities, and Assets) Survey — and we need your help to spread the word! If you live, work, or worship in Brooklyn Center, your voice is essential and every response helps to better understand and respond to hate, violence, and community needs in our city. This short (5-minute), anonymous survey is part of Brooklyn Center’s participation in the Strong Cities Network Prevention Academy, a global initiative of 270+ cities working to prevent hate and polarization. The survey has been used successfully in cities across the country and will guide us in building a more resilient and inclusive Brooklyn Center.
