Our Challenge

We know that finding up-to-date information on youth programs in our community can be a challenge. 

Our Solution

The Alliance partners have come together to connect create an online hub for youth programs in Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park. We have launched an engagement team to connect directly with parents, youth, family members, coaches, teachers, social workers, probation officers, police and anyone who connects with young people to use BrooklynsConnect.Org to support healthy youth development.

  • Search for your address (or GPS location) and browse programs near you on the map
  • Link to register for programs online
  • Link to programs youth are most interested in Sports, Arts, Music and College & Career Readiness
  • Links to other resource hubs (Hennepin County WayPoint, Youth Services Network and ParentAware)

  • Name, location, and description
  • Age range
  • Dates and times
  • Transportation available
  • Cost 
  • Available for scholarships 
  • Link to register online
  • Link to get directions to the program location
  • Links to share on Facebook or Twitter
  • Link to add program information to your Google Calendar 

Back-end business logic
  • Update the program listing daily to import new programs 
  • Filter out programs that have closed, so that we only list active programs 
  • Ability to adjust and add program types as the lists grows with no downtime
